According to Roach, he has no worries about the fight, saying that with Pacquiao’s condition, the reigning World Boxing Organization welterweight champion will emerge victorious on his upcoming bout against Bradley on June 9 in Las Vegas.
“I have no worries about the fight. I have no worries about Manny,” Roach said confidently. “He’s in great shape. He’s ready to go. We’re ready for whatever Bradley has to bring.”
Pacquiao is looking to score an impressive win against Bradley after failing to knockout his opponents in his last four fights, including his third bout against Juan Manuel Marquez that ended in a controversial decision win for the Filipino champion.
When asked whether Pacquiao will score a KO win this weekend or not, Roach said that the pound-for-pound king will drop Bradley to the canvas.
According to Roach, Bradley’s style is tailor-made for Pacquiao and if the American slugger won’t change his fighting style, there will be no chance of Bradley lasting the full 12-round title bout.
“Be careful. Manny Pacquiao is ready to go,” Roach said. “The advantage we have is that his opponent won’t stop coming. He’s going to try and try and try. I feel we’re going to knock him out somewhere along the way.”
However, Roach also clarified that he will not be disappointed if Pacquiao fails to score a Knockout win as long as he fights a good fight for 12 rounds.
If the fights ended up going to the score cards, Roach has no doubts that Pacquiao will win by a distance, saying that Pacquiao will win every round of their scheduled 12-round slugfest.
Pacquiao and his entourage, including his wife and children, are now in Las Vegas, where he is planning to break sweat every morning to keep himself fresh and ready to go.
