Reigning World Boxing Organization and World Boxing Association flyweight champion Brian Viloria believes that Manny Pacquiao will win via knockout in his upcoming bout.
When asked about his prediction for the upcoming fourth showdown between his compatriot – Pacquiao – and his Mexican rival on December 8 in Las Vegas, Viloria sees a late-round knockout victory over the pesky Mexican.
“It’s going to be a late-round stoppage,” said Viloria, who recently unified the WBO and WBA title via sensational tenth-round win over Hernan “Tyson” Marquez on November 18 in Los Angeles.
Viloria trained with Pacquiao at the Wild Card Gym and “The Hawaiian Punch” saw the old fire in the eyes of the former pound-for-pound king.
Viloria said: “I have seen him train at the Wild Card and I have seen how badly he wants to win. He is hungry to win.”
But while Viloria is confident that Pacquiao will win via knockout, Top Rank Promotions chief Bob Arum is expecting another close fight and surprisingly said that he will not rule out a fifth showdown. According to Arum, both fighters are hungry to win and prove who the better fighter is.
Marquez recently showed off images from his training camp, showing how he bulked up for the Pacquiao fight. Reports also added that the Mexican warrior added training sessions that he did not perform before just to keep himself in perfect shape for arguably the make or break fight of his career.
On the other hand, Pacquiao is also doing great at the Wild Card Gym, impressing long-time trainer Freddie Roach.
The eight-division knockout recently received $1000 straight from Roach’s pocket after knocking down Benjie Gomez during a recent sparring session.
Before starting their Los Angeles training camp, Roach urged Pacquiao to show that he is still the old Pacman and for every knock down that he will score, the trainer offered $1000 straight from his pocket. So far, Pacquiao is responding well to the challenge, showing that he is very eager to show that his two victories against Marquez were no fluke.
